The Headline


The beginning of your ad. The “title” if you will.


Your headline can genuinely make or break your ad.


You’d be amazed how many times I’ve seen businesses “fix” the headline of their ad and suddenly get more conversions.


I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been called a genius for doing this.


But I’m no genius. I just know basic marketing…


Become A Marketing Genius By Doing This


Creating a solid headline all boils down to this one simple principle:


Want to get someone's attention in a train station? Call their name!


The worst way to get their attention is by saying something generic or lame. You’d NEVER reach that person.


What does this have to do with advertising?


Well if you want to force your ideal prospect to stop scrolling and read your ad, you need to step into the conversation going on in their mind.


And the best way you can do that is by addressing what your target audience actually needs.


If you’re a chiropractor your target audience is probably people with back pain. So your headline should address this problem directly and say:


“Does Your Back Hurt?”


If your back actually hurts, this headline would stop you in your tracks and force you to continue reading.

Lame headline

Better headline

Want to quickly and easily remove coffee and nicotine stains from your teeth? Book your appointment with our practice today!


What you’ll notice in the "fixed" headlines is that they tell you something you actually want as a prospect.


They give you a promise, something interesting to you. Not some generic or bland statement.


It’s great that your plumber has 15 years of experience and is certified, but honestly… no one cares. 


They just want their problems fixed. And they want them fixed fast.


So…


Start thinking about what your customers actually care about… and write that as your headline.


It’s that simple.
